"Welcome to the Asda Young People Retail Programmes website. We know that times are hard for young people these days. There are so many talented and ambitious young people, ready and willing to work, but so few jobs they can apply for. But where there's Asda, there's hope. We care deeply about the future of young people, and we're in a position to do something positive about it. So that's exactly what we're doing.
We're creating thousands of new opportunities and investing heavily in helping young people get their feet on the career ladder. From school pupils getting work experience in years 10 and 11 to graduates joining us after University… from our new Retail Apprenticeship scheme to thousands of Seasonal roles… we're opening the way into our amazing world of retail, where careers can be built and ambitions can be fulfilled.
And when I say thousands of opportunities, I'm talking about 15,000 Work Experience placements, 25,000 Retail Apprenticeships (2011/2012) and 10,000 Seasonal jobs.
Every one of these offers a stepping stone on the way to whatever you want to be - because in a company as diverse as Asda, there are so many directions you can go - from food to fashion, from shop floor to management, from technology to transport... there's no limit.
