Work Experience
In the last few years, Work Experience has become an important part of the school
curriculum. In Years 10 and 11 it can give you valuable 'life skills' just when
you need them, plus a first taste of the life in the 'real world' of work that lies
ahead.
We've always been one of the country's biggest supporters of Work Experience,
and now we're even bigger. With the recession making life even harder for young
people, we're now offering 15,000 Work Experience placements.
Obviously we don't
expect everyone who tries the programme to go on into a retail career. But whatever
path you eventually take, this experience will give you valuable new skills and
a boost to your confidence.
Just as important, you'll have your Record of Achievement
which will always help your prospects for future employment.
Retail is a fantastic
business, and working in a supermarket like Asda is an amazing experience – though
right now you may not think so. Look further into it, and you'll soon change your
mind.
