in some early experience can do wonders for your confidence later on. Doing a job
well and with real pride makes you feel good about yourself.
Achievement
When you've successfully completed your programme you'll be given your Record of
Achievement. It will give you a head start with future employers, hopefully you'll choose Asda.
Insight
If you thought working in a supermarket meant little more than stacking shelves,
now you'll know how wrong you were! After working with our colleagues and sharing
in our day to day work, you'll see just how fascinating it is and how far you can
go.
The Future
If you enjoy the Work Experience, why stop there? You could come back to us and
keep building your skills, perhaps in a Seasonal job to begin with, then
as a Permanent Colleague when you leave school. From there you could go on
to get a Retail Apprenticeship,
all with our full support and training. Next stop, Section Leader where you'll take on
more responsibility, and then it could be just a few Stepping Stones away from developing
into a Department Manager (eg Bakery). All this could happen literally within a couple of years. And once
you've come this far, you can go anywhere in Asda. From shop floor through to management,
from buying and designing stores to working in Finance and IT, there's a world of
opportunity in one amazing company.
