Retail Apprenticeships
From 24th May 2010 we're offering 15,000 Retail Apprenticeships (over 3 years) to eligible
colleagues who have completed their 12 weeks training programme and gained their
City & Guild certificate. It's an opportunity to get a highly valued qualification
in retail.
It's also a great way to kick start a retail career, and typical of our determination
to support young people with rewarding careers.
Here's what Andy Clarke, our Chief Operating Officer, said when we announced the
launch of the Retail Apprenticeships Scheme:
"By giving young people the opportunity to learn life skills, receive accredited
training and gain a nationally recognised Retail Apprenticeship, we're giving them
valuable experience which they can put on their CV, and proving to them that working
at Asda can provide them with a stepping stone to a great career in retail"
And here's what the Learning and Skills Council had to say:
"Asda's commitment to workplace training and basic skills is nothing less than visionary"
