Experience can go a long way towards restoring your pride and self belief. You'll
have the challenge of doing a real job and the satisfaction of doing it well. You'll
know you really do have something to offer.
Achievement
When you've successfully completed your programme you'll be given your Record of
Achievement. It will give you a head start in gaining the respect of future employers,
whether it's at Asda or elsewhere.
Insight
If you thought working in a supermarket meant little more than stacking shelves,
now you'll know how wrong you were! After mixing with our people and sharing in
our day to day work, you'll see just how fascinating it is and how far you can go.
The Future
If you enjoy the Work Experience, why stop there? You could come back to us and
keep building your skills, perhaps in a Seasonal job to begin with, then as a Permanent
Colleague. From there you could go on to get a Retail Apprenticeship, all with our full support and training. Next stop, Section Leader
where you'll take on more responsibility, and then it could be just a few Stepping Stones away from
developing into a Department Manager (eg Bakery). All this could happen literally within a couple of years.
And once you've come this far, you can go anywhere in Asda. From shop floor through
to management, from buying and designing stores to working in Finance and IT, there's
a world of opportunity in one amazing company.
